Judas
- Location:
- Katholische Kirche St. Markus, Otto-Hirsch-Brücken 18, 70329 Stuttgart
Since its highly acclaimed premiere in Stuttgart's Hospitalkirche in March 2019, our production has already toured to over 20 different Catholic and Protestant churches in the region. Now the successful play is entering its third season!
Judas - his name stands for betrayal. But would Christianity have become a world religion if the Judas kiss had not happened? We cannot know who we would be today without his deed. But we do know that we would not be who we are without him.
Something monstrous happens in this monologue by Lot Vekemans. Judas himself speaks here - about his motives, his suffering, his life, us.
Dutch playwright Lot Vekemans' plays have been performed in over 20 countries to date.
Press reviews:
"...an impressive premiere... The young Jörg Pauly delivers a masterful performance in the role of Judas." (Südwest Presse)
"The vastness of the church space provides acoustics appropriate to the occasion and enriches the play ..." (Stuttgarter Zeitung)
