Coffee and beer
A musical reading with Stefan Leonhardsberger & Stephan Zinner
Like 95% of Austrians, Stefan Leonhardsberger, born in Freistadt in the Lower Mühlviertel, appreciates the coffee house, especially the Viennese one, as a special kind of institution that cannot be compared to any other in the world. And like 95% of Bavarians, Stephan Zinner, born in Trostberg in the rear Chiemgau region, also values the pub, especially the Munich pub, as a very special place. Both places have inspired, shaped and changed writers, composers, free thinkers and philosophers.
In "Kaffee und Bier", the two actors and cabaret artists read texts by these very ladies and gentlemen - on the Austrian side, Karl Kraus, Arthur Schnitzler, Joseph Roth, Egon Fridell and Anton Kuh, among others. On the Bavarian side, Oskar Maria Graf, Joachim Ringlnatz, Gerhard Polt, Frank Wedekind and Karl Valentin are represented. As the selection shows, it can be cheerful, cloudy, loud and quiet - all in all an Austrian-Bavarian mélange that attempts to shed light on the peculiarities, or perhaps even the similarities, of these two tribes.
Stefan Leonhardsberger and Stephan Zinner will draw musically on older songs, but will also perform songs composed especially for the evening.
