Kamerun-Sammlungen in deutschen Museen

The presence of Cameroonian objects in German museums means absence in their communities of origin. Their cultural significance has changed, while the acquisition contexts often remain unclear. Research cooperation between Germany and Cameroon helps to clarify such questions.

In 2024, Mikaél Assilkinga was project coordinator of a joint project of the German Lost Art Foundation on colonial-era Cameroon collections at the Linden-Museum.
