Duo Blanc & Noir
Yudum Cetiner & Selin Sekeranber

***

The piano duo Blanc & Noir meets its audience on stages around the world with an extraordinary repertoire that ranges from classical music to jazz, from traditional Turkish music to world music.

Yudum Çetiner and Selin Şekeranber received their artistic diplomas from the Lausanne Conservatory, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. As Duo Blanc&Noir, they completed their chamber music and piano duo master's degree at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts under Prof. Hans-Peter Stenzl. The duo took part in the international music competition Ibla World Music Competition and won the "Special Jury Award". The duo has performed at many international music festivals and in many well-known halls and has released a total of five albums. One of them, "It's Electric", is the world's first four-hand Rhodes album with Rhodes pianos, consisting exclusively of works by J. S. Bach. With this album they were nominated for the OPUS Klassik in four different categories. Their second album, IMAGINE, is a lullaby album consisting exclusively of the duo's own compositions. This album was presented to music lovers as a book with notes, stories and pictures.
The piano duo, who have been playing many different arrangements for years, have published arrangements of Fazıl Says "Kumru", "Alla Turca Jazz" and "Black Earth" for two pianos four hands and one piano four hands on Schott Music. After numerous concerts with orchestras and concert evenings, the duo will play a tour of Bavaria in the fall as part of the Orff Days in Germany.

Since 2020, the future initiative SIRIUS 6.0 of the HMDK Stuttgart has been dedicated to the dissemination and further development of keyboards that allow hands to grow by ½ key per octave. Since April 2024, pianists at the HMDK Stuttgart and guests have been able to experience this on a concert grand piano. A European premiere!

The scientific background is the individuality of our hands, causal relationships between small spans and playing-related overload syndromes, narrower fortepianos from 1785-1825 and the gender gap in piano competitions with romantic repertoire.
