Knappe says "goodbye" 2025
KNAPPE
Knappe says "Tschau" | On his last big farewell tour in February 2025
After six album releases, including two top ten albums, a total of over 70 million streams and more than 1,000 performances and concerts, Alexander Knappe is ending his career and saying goodbye to his fans with one last big tour in February 2025.
"There was never really a plan B. I've always just looked ahead, to the next album, the next tour. I've lived my dream, even if life as a musician isn't always as dreamy as it seems." It was this restlessness in particular that ultimately led him to decide to end his active career. For Alexander Knappe, singing is more than a talent, more than a craft, more than a profession, but always the expression of a deep inner necessity. "At some point, I had the feeling that I was becoming too demanding of myself at times," he says with a smile, "Always 150 percent, always as if it were the last day, the last time, as if it were a matter of fucking survival at all times."
In the 20 years of his career, Knappe has impressively demonstrated why he is considered one of the best German ballad singers and what happens when vocal range meets emotional depth. At the "Musik An. Welt Aus." Tour with a band and a 40-piece symphony orchestra, in sold-out halls and rousing band performances, as support for the Norwegian superstars a-ha and in countless shows in which he touched the hearts of his fans on a small to very large scale. His singles have placed in the top 100 of the airplay and sales charts, have been the soundtrack for countless marriage proposals and weddings and even the German Bundestag used the title "Weil ich wieder zuhause bin" for a permanent multimedia large-screen projection in the government district.
Even away from the stage, Alexander Knappe rarely allowed himself a break. He used his reach with great commitment for social projects and initiatives, whether as the initiator of the open-air music festival "Liebe kennt keine Liga" (Love knows no league) for the benefit of FC Energie Cottbus' youth section or as the founder of the initiative "Ich zieh mein' Hut" for children with cancer. In total, he has collected over a quarter of a million euros in donations.
With songs such as "Sing mich nach Hause", "Sag' dass Du", "Bis meine Welt die Augen schließt", "Du" and "Alles geht vorbei", Knappe has given his fans great moments full of emotion and lasting memories. Knappe has now reached the point where a new chapter must begin and, in the end, one thing counts above all for him:
"I am infinitely grateful for all the unforgettable moments I was able to experience with my fans." Or, to paraphrase a Knappe song: Wonderful years.
