Artistic intervention in memory of May Ayim
On May 3, May Ayim Square will be transformed into a place of remembrance for the Afro-German poet and activist May Ayim through an artistic intervention. The event is dedicated to her work and political commitment through various forms of artistic expression.
Performances, spoken word contributions and a mindfulness session are planned, enabling a multi-layered approach to May Ayim's work. Visitors will have the opportunity to record personal reflections in so-called memory islands.
The event will conclude with a collective public reading of her poems, creating a collective moment of remembrance in public space.
