The musical deals with topics such as faith, community and social responsibility that are still relevant today.

The musical Kolping's Dream tells the gripping story of Adolph Kolping, a priest, social reformer and founder of the Kolping Society, who played a pioneering role in the Catholic social movement in the 19th century. Kolping, who was originally a simple journeyman craftsman, passionately campaigned for workers' rights and social justice in his time.

At the heart of the story is Kolping's vision of improving the social situation of workers and creating a place of support and solidarity. By founding journeymen's associations, he promotes mutual help and commitment to a better future. In his quest for change, Kolping is challenged by personal and social conflicts. The musical depicts his inner conflict and the struggle between his ideals and the social hurdles he faces.

The musical's music is powerful and emotional and emphasizes the various facets of Kolping's life: the visions and challenges, but also the hopes and disappointments. The audience is transported back to the 19th century, where the social question and the situation of the workers take center stage. Kolping remains a symbol of the belief in change and the creation of a just society based on solidarity and charity.

Kolping's Dream is not only a tribute to the great reformer, but also a profound exploration of the themes of faith, community and social responsibility that are still relevant today.

The Junge Akademie Stuttgart has been a center for the performing arts for 15 years, and what better way to celebrate this anniversary than with a big anniversary show!
