Konzert des "Allschlaraffischen Symphonie-Orchesters" (ASO)

The Allschlaraffische Symphonie-Orchester is made up of active and former professional musicians as well as dedicated amateurs from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The concert program includes:
- Ludwig van Beethoven - Egmont Overture,
- Franz Schubert - Symphony in B minor (Unfinished),
- Antonin Dvorak - 4th movement of the 9th Symphony (From the New World)
- various operetta melodies.
The Allschlaraffische Symphonie-Orchester was founded in Aschaffenburg in June 1982 and is made up of active and former professional musicians as well as dedicated amateurs from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Most of its performances are concentrated in southern Germany, although it has also toured Latin America, the USA and South Africa.
The ASO performs with a full symphonic line-up and its repertoire includes works from the classical and romantic periods as well as well-known operetta melodies, waltzes and marches. When selecting the program, special attention is paid to works or composers who - like the orchestra itself - are associated with the Kulturbund Schlaraffia e.V., which was founded in 1859. This is why the orchestra regularly performs works related to the songs of the association, some of which were composed especially for the ASO. Members of Schlaraffia included Gustav Mahler and Franz Lehár.
On the first weekend in April, the representatives of the German associations of the worldwide Schlaraffia federation meet in Stuttgart for a conference with several events. The concert by the Allschlaraffisches Symphonie-Orchester offers the general public and those interested in classical music the opportunity to get to know the Schlaraffia association, which is committed to the cultivation of art, friendship and humor.
