The calens vocalensemble presents a program that focuses on the timelessness of classical vocal music. In the juxtaposition of works by Pierre Villette, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, William Byrd, Roxanna Panufnik and Jaakko Mäntyjärvi as well as original compositions by Frederic Mattes and Florian Wolf, the tonal language of historical and contemporary settings of sacred texts enters into a dialog that aims to show that classical vocal music can always touch deeply and inspire new creations.
