Neugereut Cultural Circle: A crime thriller evening à la Schiller for the Night of the Libraries in the Neugereut district library.
Murder in Breuningerland
Oliver von Schaewen was born in Kreuztal (near Siegen) in Westphalia and lives near Marbach, the birthplace of Friedrich Schiller. Von Schaewen dedicates his crime novels to central works by the poet, which was expressed in the Wilhelm Tell adaptation Schillerhöhe (2009) and the robber remake Räuberblut (2010). In his crime novels, the author addresses the problem of unprocessed history, which can sometimes blossom into murder.
In his third novel, Glockenstille (2014), von Schaewen turned his attention to problems in the Catholic Church such as sexual abuse, the oppression of women and the encrustation of hierarchy. In his new novel "Liebestrug", he explores the question of which class conceits are corrupting love between men and women today. It was inspired by Friedrich Schiller's drama "Kabale und Liebe".
Von Schaewen has worked as an editor for the Marbach local edition of the Stuttgarter Nachrichten and the Stuttgarter Zeitung since 1997.
