Karl Valentin, born on June 4, 1882, died on February 9, 1948, whose real name was Valentin Ludwig Fey, was a comedian, folk singer, author and film producer. His sense of humor influenced many other artists, from Bertolt Brecht to Samuel Beckett, Loriot and Monty Python.
