LOS FASTIDIOS | Italian "Antifa Hooligans" with a mix of street punk, ska and rocksteady
The "Antifa Hooligans" from Verona in northern Italy have been active for more than thirty years (this is the title of one of their most famous songs, which was played for a long time at FC St. Pauli matches in Hamburg's Millerntor stadium before the start of the second half). Pauli at Hamburg's Millerntor stadium before the start of the second half), and the formation around frontman Enrico has long since established itself with its extremely rousing mix of melodic street punk, classic British Oi!sound, "stadium-compatible singalongs" as well as danceable ska rhythms and casual rocksteady-offbeat influences. The songs are mainly sung in Italian - and there is no question that the "message is right": when it's not about "the most beautiful minor matter in the world" (i.e. soccer), left-wing political issues are on the agenda, and in combination with the music, these committed lyrics could well trigger the irresistible urge to storm out onto the streets "at the drop of a hat" and with a raised fist! It's worth mentioning that the band's long-time tour manager Elisa now sings on some of the songs at their concerts.
