"Dreams come true in Europe." It is possible to make your dreams come true in Europe. But the question is: how high is the price?

An evening of theater by Tamó Gvenetadze (Schauspielhaus Bochum)
"Once you've left your own country, you never arrive in a new one. Then only some special people become your country." People leave their homeland because they hope for a better life elsewhere. But once there, they have by no means arrived and are searching for recognition, opportunities and a new sense of identity. They are people who have cut off their roots. The play "Where is your mulberry tree?" by young theater maker Tamó Gvenetadze tells the story of migrants and their perhaps utopian ideas that drive them to Europe and how they are destroyed here. "It's warm in Europe." "I'll be fine in Europe." "In Europe, I can become anything." "In Europe, dreams come true." It is possible to make your dreams come true in Europe. But the question is: how high is the price? An evening of theater about the experiences of migrants - honest, personal, full of anger and longing.

The performance will take place as part of the 8th intercultural theater festival "Made in Germany": from 20 to 24 November 2024, Stuttgart's cultural institutions will open their houses to theater productions from all over Germany that deal with our immigration society. Once again this year, the program selection is thanks to a dedicated and highly motivated citizens' jury
