Always present on his path is a messenger of death - or is it his guardian angel? John Cranko created Spuren in the middle of the Cold War as one of his last works. To Mahler's unfinished 10th Symphony, Cranko created his most political piece, in which a woman who has survived a totalitarian regime tries to find her way in her new environment. A work that seems more relevant than ever 50 years after its premiere.
