Mayberg - Live 2025

"Playing live is honestly the reason why I do all this in the first place. I absolutely love singing lyrics to people. There's somehow a huge, emotional energy in the room - it does a lot to me." (Mayberg)

MAYBERG writes his songs at home - and when they're finished, he plays them to people, preferably live.

This one-liner sums up everything MAYBERG is about. Sounds minimalist. It is, just a little bit: It's not for nothing that the artist christened his 2023 debut album "MINI" and curated eight songs on it, while he likes to pepper the progress of his writing process with pre-released demos from time to time. From the outset, the musician divides his work into chapters based on singles, which give a pretty accurate indication of where MAYBERG stands artistically.

"Most of my work happens in an 'I'm sitting at home' kind of way," says the 24-year-old: songs that are slightly abstract in terms of lyrics but honestly report on the lives of people in their mid-twenties are created in the most intimate of settings. The sound that the musician creates has a singer-songwriter feel to it in the early days: guitar, piano, a few beats. This gradually fades, the MAYBERG sound universe becomes more electronic, more diffuse: "Now it's less singer-songwriter-like. More artistic, more abstract," says MAYBERG.

Parallel to the musical development, MAYBERG's live sound is condensing into an optimal unit: after an intensive live year with over 50 playing days at his own shows and festivals in 2023 alone, the concerts have grown into powerful shows with a lot of dynamism. With the singer, there are four permanent musicians on stage and everyone knows what to do: "It's just done well now," says MAYBERG: "The songs have become more musical live, the live set-up is more checked out, more expressive, more danceable and more powerful. The songs have matured and we also like to play them differently live."

MAYBERG lives by the motto "Write songs to be able to play them live". The fact that his plan has turned into measurable success is the result of his authenticity and continuous growth over the past three years. New people are constantly joining the community and sticking with it: for a year now, MAYBERG has had a steady stream of over a million people on Spotify who want to listen to him every month. The tracks "Endlos_Demo" and "Spiegelbild" have gone remarkably viral on social media channels, a hype that MAYBERG also acknowledges, but observes critically and then prefers to continue doing his thing. Which is very well received: The community can identify perfectly with his themes - MAYBERG's story is simply well told and clicks with the experiences of others.

Fans instinctively sense that MAYBERG is genuine: more audience members:inside come to his concerts with every round, so that every one of his tours is sold out. The musician has earned his fans live everywhere - most of the 24 dates of the second headlining tour in autumn 2023 sold out early.

It feels great for the artist and crew, just as it does for the audience: playing live is the central nerve of the MAYBERG organism. It is the place and the time in which musicians and community give each other everything that the songs promise. Seeing, hearing and meeting each other in real life: This is one of the most important things for MAYBERG and his fans. The musician has therefore announced the next tour cycle for 2025 and confirmed new concert dates for selected venues.
