22:00: BAND IN THE BIX | Frank Dupree Trio feat. Simon Höfele - "Salted Caramel"
In 2022, study friends Frank Dupree and Simon Höfele released the highly acclaimed CD "Salted Caramel" together with their musical friends. This is a wonderful testimony to the fact that classical music and jazz belong so closely together that no boundaries can be recognized. Höfele will also present his special homage to the greatest jazz trumpeters at this night owl concert, with Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker and Roy Hargrove, for example, on the program. In the first part, the Frank Dupree Trio will pay tribute to precisely this idea of boundlessness with the ingenious music of Nikolai Kapustin. You can look forward to four exceptional musicians doing their favorite thing: grooving, swinging and improvising together.
Line-up: Simon Höfele (trp); Frank Dupree (p); Jakob Krupp (b); Obi Jenne (dr)
