Eisler - "Gegen den Krieg" op. 55
The concert takes place without an intermission.
The crowning glory of cultural history, the pinnacle of the genre, a symbol of humanity, a technical masterpiece - when it comes to Beethoven's Ninth, superlatives are hard to come by. Where should one even begin with this symphony, about which everything seems to be said and yet which cannot be put into words?
In combination with Hanns Eisler's cantata "Against War", an important concert is created here as a sign for peace, as an appeal to humanity and as a symbol for international cultural dialog.
