RAZZIA | The Hamburg dark German punk legend of the 1980s is back
One of the absolute German punk legends is returning to Stuttgart with its original singer Rajas Thiele: As they always acted beyond any clichés, both lyrically and musically, the formation, founded in Hamburg in 1979, is considered one of the most important and creative bands that the local scene of the 1980s produced alongside EA80 or the NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES, and their debut "Tag ohne Schatten" is already considered an elementary classic of the genre. However, the quartet was never a "typical" German punk band and later used keyboards, borrowed from the post-punk sector, which was generally referred to as "wave" at the time, and gave their music a slightly darker "goth touch". The result was the epochal second album "Ausflug mit Franziska" from 1986, a milestone in German music history. And even today, her songs are still characterized by a mixture of energy and melancholy - as well as intelligent lyrics that are more reminiscent of German expressionists than the zeitgeist-compliant products of other "artists".
