Romantic Trio
Ekatherina Polyakova, concert grand piano by Schiedmayer & Soehne (Stuttgart, 1872)
Teddy Ezra, clarinet
Two young protagonists of the early music scene, Ekatherina Polyakova (fortepiano) and Teddy Ezra (clarinet), perform the wonderful music of three of the most important composers of German Romanticism in this concert: Robert and Clara Schumann, as well as their heartfelt friend Johannes Brahms. In the period after Robert Schumann's suicide attempt in 1854, Brahms was very supportive of Clara Schumann - a personal and musical connection developed that lasted until the end of Clara's life. In a way, Brahms and Clara Schumann maintained the competing musical inspiration that had already characterized the Schumann couple's relationship, from which both benefited artistically.
Ekatherina Polyakova and Teddy Ezra present some of the most famous works for clarinet and piano by these three great Romantic figures on period instruments - a real feast for the ears!
A concert in collaboration with the State University of Music Trossingen.
