with the SWR Symphony Orchestra at the Liederhalle Stuttgart

Philipp von Steinaecker conducts the SWR Symphony Orchestra. Together they will perform works by Johannes Brahms and his contemporaries. Malte Arkona moderates the concert.

"He has appeared, a young man who has touched us deeply with his wonderful music and who, I am convinced, will cause the greatest movement in the musical world. His name is Johannes Brahms." This is how the composer Robert Schumann enthused about the new star in the musical firmament in 1853. In this concert, the children accompany Johannes Brahms on his journey through the world: they travel with him across Germany to Vienna, meet his friends like the Schumanns, get to know Johannes from his sensitive and vulnerable side and discover the most beautiful sunrise with him. And, of course, one thing is not to be missed: his lullaby (Guten Abend, gute Nacht), which we will rewrite and sing together with the participating schools. To prepare for the concert, SWR Musikvermittlung offers the workshop "Klingendes Klassenzimmer".

Duration: approx. 1 hour
Recommended for grades 2 to 5
Teaching materials are available free of charge at schulmusik-online.de 6 weeks before the concert.
