Concert with the Inuit duo PIQSIQ and singer-songwriter Pete Sands (Navajo)

The opening concert of "INDIGEN - The North American Film Festival" takes us musically from southern Utah to the far north of Canada. With their very different voices, PIQSIQ and Pete Sands sing about the land they come from and the history they share with it. Traditional and modern sounds intertwine to create powerful soundscapes that echo both the resilience in the face of forced assimilation and its consequences for contemporary life.

The first part of the concert will be performed by Pete Sands, for whom music is a universal language for communication between people. The second part will be performed by the Katajjaq duo PIQSIQ with their unique vocal sound compositions, which combine Inuit throat singing with modern technology.
