Double concert - Two bands will be performing on stage at BIX this Tuesday - support the next generation of jazz and be part of a colorful live program!

The band takes its audience into the world of the legendary jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins. With an extraordinary line-up of saxophone, double bass and drums, the trio breathes new life into his iconic works. The saxophonist (Kai Wieprecht) and drummer (Mario Moser) have been working together musically for many years, shaped by joint jazz workshops, the Landesjugendjazzorchester and their time at the Musikhochschule. The bassist (Boyang Zhang), who is currently completing his master's degree in double bass at the Musikhochschule, perfectly complements the trio's tonal balance with his virtuoso playing style. Formed through their work in a university ensemble, the three musicians have dedicated themselves entirely to the music of Sonny Rollins and interpret his compositions with passion and esprit.

JAZZIFY

"Germany's all-time favorite, but *jazz*. Under this motto, Jazzify brings together up-and-coming musicians aged 16 - 22. Their aim is to give well-known and popular pieces a new shine and give them their very own touch.

The nine musicians from Baden-Württemberg make "Komet" sound like a lively Latin song or mix the Ski Aggu summer hit "Frisenjung" with a danceable pinch of Louis Cole. The sophisticated arrangements take the audience on a journey through time when they perform their fifteen-minute jazz suite by Major Tom live or resurrect Mozart in "Rock Me Amadeus".

With this mixture of sophisticated improvised jazz and catchy tunes from all decades, Jazzify bridges the gap between jazz fanatics and chart lovers."

Thanks to the financial support of our sponsors, we have already completed several studio sessions, a small tour and teacher-accompanied work phases, as well as over 10 gigs. Among other things, we were invited by the radio station EgoFM to the "young talents", recruited for our trio arrangement of "Komet" for a music program on the television station Vox and won second place in the state competition "Jugend Jazzt". Our arrangement of "Major Tom" received an additional special prize.
