Ride the train like in the old days - this is possible again on Sunday, November 24 from Stuttgart main station. Because on this day, the so-called Stäffelesrutscher will be on the move. This is steam locomotive 58 311 from Dampfnostalgie Karlsruhe on the one hand and locomotive E94 088 from Elektrische Zugförderung Württemberg, also known as the "German Crocodile", together with passenger coaches from the 1930s to 1950s on the other.
The journeys start at 10:03 and 15:03 at Stuttgart main station, returning at 12:57 and 17:48 respectively. (Please check the times the evening before in case there are any changes).
The trains run from Stuttgart main station via Waiblingen, S-Untertürkheim, Ludwigsburg, Korntal and S-Vaihingen back to Stuttgart main station. A trip costs 42 euros for adults, 21 euros for children (4-14 years) and 105 euros for families (2E+3K).
The train is also catered with a historic dining car.
The organizer is the Dampfnostalgie Karlsruhe association - a section of the Ulmer Eisenbahnfreunde e. V.
There is no profit motive behind the train rides; the money raised from ticket purchases is primarily used to maintain the historic trains. It is therefore requested that interested parties reserve tickets in good time. Otherwise the trips would have to be canceled and tickets that have already been paid for would be refunded.
