Steve Wynn & Chris Cacavas

As the founder and leader of the band Dream Syndicate, Steve Wynn is probably one of the most influential figures in the US underground rock scene. Today he performs on the Lab stage with Chris Cacavas, himself an alternative rock legend.

On the one hand, he transferred the Velvet Underground aesthetic into the eighties with Dream Syndicate and, on the other, familiarized the college rock audience with the guitar sound of the sixties and seventies. After the end of Dream Syndicate, he began his solo career in the early nineties with a whole series of brilliant albums on which he constantly reinvented and modified his style, from singer-songwriter with a slight country touch to electrified folk rock and rough garage rock. He works with musicians and bands such as Giant Sand, Come, Long Ryders and Peter Buck from R.E.M., as well as with Walkabouts head Chris Eckman.
The individual quality of each concert evening is determined not only by the selection and arrangement of the song material, but also by the fact that the performances feature a special guest. So he will also have an old companion with him at the Lab, who will not only accompany him, but may also intersperse a song or two from his own repertoire. After all, it's none other than Chris Cacavas, himself an alternative rock legend and current Dream Syndicate band member. And since Steve can draw from the oeuvre of such diverse projects as Dream Syndicate, Danny & Dusty, Gutterball, the Baseball Project as well as his solo and Miracle 3 catalog, it promises to be a very varied and interesting concert evening.
