With Constanze Klaue, Daniel Born and Friederike Hartl Moderation: Carolin Callies
Director Constanze Klaue's powerful feature debut "Mit der Faust in die Welt schlagen", based on the novel by Görlitz writer Lukas Rietzschel, tells a family drama in the East German provinces from the perspective of two brothers. The upheavals of the post-reunification period reverberate in all their harshness for both the young people and their parents' generation. From within the characters, Constanze Klaue finds an impressive language for the anger and alienation of those who did not want to accept the great promises of the future. It paints an unembellished and detailed generational portrait in an environment characterized by a lack of prospects and radicalization, which is representative of many places in the world. "Mit der Faust in die Welt schlagen" celebrates its world premiere in the "Perspectives" section of the Berlinale 2025 and opens in cinemas nationwide on April 3. Constanze Klaue, director and author, Daniel Born, chairman of "Mehr Demokratie e. V. Baden-Württemberg", and Friederike Hartl from Stadtjugendring Stuttgart will talk about the film afterwards at
, with Carolin Callies, poet and literary mediator, moderating.
