A musical biography to mark the opening of the 125th anniversary of HYMNUS Works by Heinrich Schütz, Johann Sebastian Bach and from the choir's history Followed by an artists' get-together for the anniversary year with choirmaster Rainer Homburg
A dream: a house where young people are introduced to the great music of our culture. Where they learn to sing Bach's vocal works themselves, for example. Where their voices become better and better through good voice training. What would it be like if such an institution were also a place where lifelong friendships could grow through singing, games and fun? This place already exists, in the middle of Stuttgart, open to all boys, and has been for no less than 125 years: The Hymnus. After the concert, Kay Johannsen asks the director of the successful boys' choir, Rainer Homburg, about formative moments in the choir's eventful history.
