The SWR Big Band invites you to a new round of its popular home concerts - experience one of the best big bands in the world up close in a relaxed atmosphere.
The SWR Big Band remains true to its concept for this edition: the second part of the evening will be a surprise.
In the first part, the band, led by trombonist Marc Godfroid, will present their new Sammy Nestico album "More Than Just Friends" for the first time. And the name says it all: there was an intensive relationship with Sammy Nestico that began back in 2003. The arranger and bandleader called the SWR Big Band his favorite band and entrusted them with previously unpublished arrangements and exclusive compositions at the end of his career. The program naturally also includes swing classics such as "Sweet Georgia Brown" and "Out Of The Night" - and fans of instrumental swing music will get their money's worth. In the second part, artist in residence Magnus Lindgren takes over together with a surprise guest. In short: the perfect evening for cosmopolitan music fans.
