A place of longing - role model - sacrifice: man's relationship with nature is complex. With texts by Rainer Maria Rilke, Per Nørgard seeks a connection to nature in sound. Christian Mason composes according to the principles of swarm intelligence, copies the social strategies of fish and birds for life and survival and asks: is adaptation also the best survival strategy for us humans? The willows in Johannes Maria Staud's choral work can tell us a thing or two about this, as they witnessed the death marches that passed them by. And the Koranic composer Younghi Pagh-Paan tells of the earth, which means home, in her existential choral work. It is about rural exodus, exploitation and the radical restructuring of Korean society to the point of "loss of soul".
