THE GREGORIAN VOICES - The night of the 1000 candles
Gregorian music meets pop - from the Middle Ages to today
As part of their current tour, THE GREGORIAN VOICES are giving an additional 10 extraordinary concerts. The stage and the celebrated ensemble will shine in the glow of 1000 candles.
Extra-long concerts and new songs that touch you deeply.
THE GREGORIAN VOICES have been successfully touring Europe since spring 2011.
Under the artistic direction of Oleksiy Semenchuk, the extraordinary Ukrainian soloists present the musical tradition of Gregorian chant in style.
Dressed in traditional monks' robes, the singers create a mystical atmosphere in a sea of candlelight, taking the audience on a fascinating journey through the world of sacred music from the Middle Ages to the here and now.
Experience a varied concert with a mixture of Gregorian chants, orthodox church music and songs and madrigals from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
With its vocal power and many solo passages, the choir and its soloists show in an impressive way how Gregorian chant can sound today. Authentic and yet contemporary.
The second part of the concert features pop music classics such as "Ameno" by ERA, "You raise me up" by Josh Groban, "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen, "Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel, "Sailing" by Rod Steward and other new musical highlights that have been rearranged in the style of Gregorian chant for the Night of 1000 Lights.
Let yourself be inspired by the fascinating voices of the soloists and the moving choral singing: a firework display of pure joy and dynamism.
A cappella at its finest.
THE GREGORIAN VOICES offer you a breathtaking concert experience and an incomparable listening pleasure.
