Tim Fischer
... sings Hildegard Knef | So what
Piano, arrangements & musical direction: Mathias Weibrich - Bass: Lars Hansen - Drums: Bernd Oezsevim
Tim Fischer honors Hildegard Knef, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday on 28 December 2025, with a glamorous concert evening and embodies the cult star with skin and hair. An absolute affair of the heart for the singing actor, who became a fan as a teenager and has always been fascinated and inspired by Knef's enormous range.
Stylistically confident and virtuosically accompanied by his excellent band, consisting of the pianist, arranger and musical director Mathias Weibrich, Lars Hansen (bass) and Bernd Oezsevim (drums), "Der Meister des Chansons" (Hannoversche Allgemeine, 2024) dives passionately into the song worlds of the versatile artist.
Hildegard Knef, who wrote her best song lyrics herself in her unaffectedly matter-of-fact and very own tone and which were set to music by top-class composers such as Charly Niessen, Kai Rautenberg and the great Hans Hammerschmid, have moved millions of people and are still of timeless beauty, says Tim Fischer. The emotional, often tragicomic stories, which radiate warmth, courage and fragility, still endure today and are therefore worth performing. For the audience - as for him as a performer - they are the ideal projection screen for projecting their own wishes and desires onto the canvas of life.
Artistically, Fischer approaches the work of perhaps Germany's greatest artistic personality and Berliner-by-choice, who was shaken by life, this "gift horse", got up again and again and always remained herself, not for the first time. Katja Schwämmers, reviewer for the Hamburger Morgenpost, raved: "As Tim Fischer stands there in the cone of light on the dark stage and intones Hildegard Knef's beautiful songs, you feel infinitely close to the spirit of the diva.
