Concert by Rondo vocale in the Markuskirche Stuttgart

The medieval poem Stabat Mater describes Mary's pain under the cross in moving words. It has inspired numerous composers to set it to music. The Rondo vocale sings from the Stabat Mater by Palestrina, Scarlatti and Tůma, as well as works by Tavener and Poulenc.
Cellist Levan Andria accompanies the choir and plays works by J. S. Bach.
