Public guided tour of the Stauffenberg memorial.
On May 8, 1945, the Allies forced the German Wehrmacht to surrender and ended the Second World War. A few months earlier, the conspirators around Stauffenberg tried to kill Hitler, but they paid with their lives. After the end of the war, they were despised as traitors to the fatherland, not honored as resistance fighters. For Stauffenberg's family, the end of the war meant the end of their imprisonment, but no rehabilitation. A tour of the memorial sheds light on the controversial memory of Stauffenberg and other resistance fighters.
