Resonance brings together Valo Valentino and Marina WitteMann, two artists who masterfully combine auditory and visual elements to explore the invisible forces of sound and color and their profound effects on perception.
The works on display are not only seen, but also felt, heard and experienced in a way that transcends traditional sensory boundaries.
Valo Valentino uses sound waves as a means of painting. By harnessing the vibrations of sound, the artist transforms these invisible frequencies into vibrant, dynamic compositions. Each work captures the moment when sound waves intersect with materials, creating patterns and shapes that appeal to both the eye and the ear. His glass sculptures, installations and objects pulsate with the energy of the captured sound.
In contrast, Marina WitteMann's works reflect emotional and physical states with her colors, using newspapers as a metaphor for the influence of media on our perception of the world. By painting with captivating, almost seductive hues, she creates objects of desire that are irresistible and alluring. Her artwork parallels propaganda and offers easily understandable myths that seduce and ensnare. Marina's interactive installation, consisting of painted newspapers on a metal grid, emphasizes the transformative power of the written word. As soon as the viewer enters the space, they are enveloped in complete silence, sensing the constraints of propaganda that subtly imprisons people.
The works of Valo and WitteMann together form a symphony of sensory experiences that challenge and expand our understanding of the transformative potential of art. "Resonance" is an invitation to explore the intimate connections between sound, color and perception and to experience art that pulsates with invisible but deeply felt forces.
