After "Monet's Garden" and "TUTANCHAMUN", producer Alegria Exhibition is bringing a new immersive exhibition to Stuttgart's Schleyer-Halle in December.
VERMEER - MASTER OF LIGHT is a digital journey into the Dutch Era (Golden Age) of the Netherlands.
Jan Vermeer's expressive paintings, including his most popular work "The Girl with the Pearl Earring", are the focus of state-of-the-art, elaborate projections. In a unique journey through several rooms, his paintings tell the story and life at the time of the seafaring nation, which was a major world power in the 17th century and a leader in the fields of painting, science and business.
Large projections of the predominantly small-format paintings show Vermeer's unique eye for detail. Everyday moments, shiny fabrics, shadows or a letter on a table, are transformed around the viewer into almost living paintings. Vermeer turns the everyday into the extraordinary. With initially inconspicuous domestic scenes, the painter captures our attention in an incomparable way and gives us intimate insights into life over 350 years ago.
The use of playful and state-of-the-art multimedia elements turns a visit to the Schleyer Hall into a unique virtual experience.
The immersive art experience, which is celebrating its world premiere in Stuttgart, is the first to show the complete works of one of the most important Dutch artists.
