The young singers of the Leipzig-based ensemble voicemade are always driven by the urge to explore. They dig through archives for unpublished treasures and have discovered the Florilegium Portense, a collection of motets from the beginning of the 17th century. Bach knew the collection and ordered it for his St. Thomas Boys Choir. For us today, the collection of known and unknown compositions is a window into the musical practice of the Baroque era. The Leipzig composers also open an interesting window into the present day for us: with several works by Łukaszewski (*1968), we hear music by an outstanding Polish composer of our time.
