Of love and friendship
Christine Busch, violin
Stefania Neonato, grand piano by Carl Bechstein, Berlin (1871)
With this concert, violinist Christine Busch and pianist Stefania Neonato take us musically back to the bourgeois salons of the 19th century. Both solo pieces and chamber music works from the close circle around the Schumann couple are on the program. In 1853, the young Johannes Brahms visited Clara and Robert Schumann for the first time together with the violinist Joseph Joachim, from which a close friendship developed between them.
In the Schumann home, where a "romantic and sociable spirit" prevailed, they not only made music together, but also composed together. There are also mutual dedications and musical references in the works. In keeping with the era, the pianist will play on an impressive concert grand piano by Carl Bechstein from 1871, which is part of the collection of the Württemberg State Museum.
A concert in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute Stuttgart.
Early music concert series
The concert series at the Haus der Musik starts its sixth season. The line-up includes top-class international ensembles and musicians. Renowned lecturers from the Trossingen University of Music present wonderful programs. Other well-known national and regional ensembles as well as offerings from the Stuttgart music academies round off the extensive program, which of course also includes live performances of the historical keyboard instruments of the Württemberg State Museum.
