Festive, sublime and sometimes delicate: one focus of this year's Christmas concert by Chor-Art Stuttgart is excerpts from Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria in D major, which is musically very representative and varied in form and structure, making it one of the most popular works at Christmas time. The work was composed between 1713 and 1717 in Venice. In its varied diversity, it is one of the masterpieces of sacred choral music and one of the most beautiful works by Antonio Vivaldi. Chor-Art will be accompanied by an instrumental ensemble and a pianist. A further accent is placed on Spanish sounds by the contemporary American composer Jay Althouse, which express the joy of the birth of Christ.
