Welcome, noble child Concert in the Evang. Veitskapelle in Mühlhausen.

Surrounded by medieval wall paintings, you are invited to take part in this concert! In addition to compositions by Farina, Castello and Frescobaldi, we will play movements of well-known Advent and Christmas carols, to which Leila Schayegh and Anna Schall will improvise diminutions. Diminution is the dissolution of melodic lines into faster - "small" - notes. This is the highly virtuosic art of ornamentation of the musicians of the late 16th century, which you have already been able to experience in our performances in the Mannheim Monteverdi cycle. You can also look forward to works by the Stuttgart composer Samuel Capricornus (1628-1655), who could also be described as the Stuttgart Monteverdi. And don't forget to sing along: The chorale movements are available for you to download from our website.

Participants
Anna Schall, cornett
Leila Schayegh, violin
Jörg Halubek, Organo di legno
(organ by Andreas Schiegnitz)
