Wunderheiler

Tailor-made: Lutz Hübner and Sarah Nemitz, who are among the most frequently performed German playwrights ("Frau Müller muss weg"), have written a new play for us with a strong Stuttgart connection, which will be premiered at the Altes Schauspielhaus.
When Claudia Nägele, a successful retired businesswoman from Stuttgart, is diagnosed with a serious heart condition, she calls together her children, who have long since grown up, and her eldest granddaughter. She wants their advice on whether she should undergo a risky operation that could prolong her life expectancy.
The family peace, which has already been very shaky since the death of their father due to the coronavirus, is once again put at risk: the siblings are divided between clear supporters of evidence-based medicine and staunch advocates of alternative healing methods. Old scores are brought back to the table.
A fundamental dispute quickly erupts over affections and rejections, responsibility and ruthlessness, as well as conspiracy theories and probabilities.
Lutz Hübner and Sarah Nemitz show with a sharp eye and a great deal of humor the social rifts that can run right through a family when it comes to health.
A highly topical play for an outstanding ensemble! Ursula Berlinghof, who was voted the most popular actress by the audience in 2022/2023, plays Claudia, the head of the family.
