The Society for Archaeology in Württemberg and Hohenzooerln is offering this lecture by Dr. Jürgen Hald on February 4, 2025 at 6 pm in the Reinhold Würth Hall in the Old Palace in Stuttgart.
Ancient path and road construction is usually associated with the Romans. Older paved road sections have only rarely been found, mainly during excavations in bogs and wetlands where plank paths or similar constructions were discovered. In the district of Constance, several road-like structures from the Early Iron Age have now been uncovered on mineral soils during large-scale excavations in recent years.
In his overview lecture, the speaker will present the findings in more detail and provide exciting insights into these infrastructure measures of the early Celts in Hegau.
