Conversation
Bernhard Pörksen and Doris Dörrie
Listening, being heard, engaging in dialog at eye level - these are buzzwords of our time and yet often empty formulas of political rhetoric. What does it mean to really listen, to question one's own convictions, to expose oneself to the other person's view of the world? Bernhard Pörksen shows which mechanisms prevent people from listening - whether in private or in public. And he presents approaches that enable a new openness, deeper understanding and empathic listening. How do you reach those you can no longer reach? Bernhard Pörksen, born in 1969, is Professor of Media Studies at the University of Tübingen and has become known for his book "Die große Gereiztheit. Wege aus der kollektiven Erregung" (2018) and "Die Kunst des Miteinander-Redens. On dialog in society and politics" (with Friedemann Schulz von Thun, 2020). The director, screenwriter and author Doris Dörrie talks to him. In addition to her well-known films "Männer", "Kirschblüten - Hanami" and "Grüße aus Fukushima", she also writes children's books, short stories and novels. Her latest essay "Wohnen" is still hot off the press and will be presented the following day at the Literaturhaus. Doris Dörrie lives in Munich.
