Two Days in Stuttgart

Before you set off on your voyage of discovery, it's worth dropping in at "Hüftengold", a café that really lives up to its name with food that goes straight to the hips! But they also have a pretty impressive breakfast menu.
If your focus is on shopping, go to Königstraße for well-known fashion chains, the area around the Stiftskirche (Collegiate Church) for exclusive labels, and the Gerberviertel (Tanners' Quarter) for individual boutiques. Also very recommendable: The hip shopping area FLUXUS with unique shops and cafés. In Calwer Straße you'll find attractive gabled and timbered buildings, exclusive stores and international restaurants.
How about a visit to the award-winning Stuttgart Opera in the evenings, where the world-famous Stuttgart Ballet also gives its enthralling performances? (reservations needed).
An alternative evening programme: There's no shortage of lively bars and cafés all around the Hans im Glück ("Lucky Hans") fountain, especially during summer weekends. You get a good view over Palace Square from the "Waranga", from where you can watch the 'in' crowd over an Aperol spritz "seeing and being seen".
